Comments
On behalf of my pastor, Fr. Charles F. Schultz, I would like to thank all the Filipino Ministry parish leaders of the 7 churches who came to support the BNP Informational Night. I join most of you who mentioned that it was a joy to listen to Prof. Steffi San Buenaventura's historical/cultural/popular spirituality presentation. A dose of a little sharing from a current BNP member of 20 years during the open discussion proved that it was truly an informational night. To those who offered their prayers, please accept our deepest thanks.
Almost all of the feedback are good:
Fr. Art R. Balagat: "I believe it was a very good meeting."
Fr. Charles F. Schultz: " The professor was great. Lecture should have been longer"
Fr. Romy Seleccion, MS, director, Asian Pacific Islander Ministry: (through an e-mail report) " There were more pluses than minuses."
Josie Dumdum (St. Paul the Apostle): "I'm glad that I went. I was seated in front of the BNP members--several of them. I tried to make small talk with them...."
Nelly Peralta (Sacred Heart): "Bitin (not enough of it) ...we have to wait for another month to hear another lecture on history. Should be an all day affair."
Edna Lagumbay (Our Lady of Lourdes): "Lecture was too short. Should belonger. It was so exciting to listen to our history. culture, popular spirituality one more time."
Beth Manangan (St. Elizabeth Ann Seton): "I think there are more positive than negative so our first info. night I would rate successful."
Willie Bugaoan ( St. Elizabeth Ann Seton): "The hardest flyer (inserted in our church's bulletin and e-mailed) I ever made. The text should be informational, reconciliatory and non-confrontational in approach . I prayed to the Holy Spirit so hard. I'm glad everybody did exactly what is expected of them at the meeting."
Willy de Castro (BNP member for 20 years): "Thank you Fr. Art for this dialogue."
Anyway, the next St. Elizabeth's Info. Night is scheduled late this month. Will keep everybody posted.
Meantime, Fr. Art is recommending for all the parish leaders' to attend Dr. Jose de Mesa's class "Building Inclusive Communities" at Mount St. Mary's College scheduled on Wed., Aug. 11th. Dr. De Mesa is one of the handful ofexperts on t inculturation. Please call/e-mail Fr. Art or me for additional flyer or information. Note: this is the flyer handed out by Fr. Art at the info. night at St. Elizabeth's.
